About Group Maison LLP

Our Story

Group Maison LLP opened its doors in Philadelphia in 2011 with one guiding rule: represent employees, and only employees. Helena Maison spent the early part of her career watching workers walk into big-firm consultations on the wrong side of the table, and she believed Pennsylvania employees deserved a firm that sat on their side every single time.

Since then the firm has grown to four attorneys with offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and an appointment location in Harrisburg. The rule has not changed. We have never represented an employer or a management side, and we never will. When you hire us, there is no chance your employer is already our client.

How We Work

Most of our cases are taken on a contingency fee, which means you pay no attorney fee unless we recover money for you. We front the costs of litigation. If there is no recovery, you owe us no fee.

We also believe straight answers are part of the job. At the end of your free consultation you will hear one of three things: that you have a case, that you do not, or that we need to look at a few things before anyone can say. We tell clients early when a case is not worth pursuing, because your time and stress matter as much as your legal claims.

What We Handle

  • Wrongful termination and retaliation
  • Discrimination based on race, sex, age, religion, disability, pregnancy and other protected traits
  • Sexual harassment and hostile work environment claims
  • Unpaid wages, overtime and misclassification
  • Family and Medical Leave Act cases
  • Severance agreement review and negotiation

In the Community

Our attorneys speak at community legal clinics, workers' centers and union halls across the Commonwealth, and the firm takes on a small number of reduced-fee matters each year for workers who fall outside legal aid guidelines but cannot afford standard rates. If you think you might qualify, mention it when you call.
